My name is James Sawyer and I am a Clinical Dental Technician registered with the General Dental Council.
My qualifications are:
• FdSc Dental Technology — Cardiff Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, awarded with Distinction
• Dip CDT RCS (Ed) — Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom
• General Dental Council registration number: 310766
A Clinical Dental Technician is a registered dental professional with training in both the clinical and technical aspects of removable denture care. This means I can meet patients, assess their needs and provide denture treatment within my professional scope of practice.
Harmony and Thomas Patrick Dental Studio
Harmony Clinical Dental Technology is the professional name for my work as a Clinical Dental Technician. I provide clinical and technical denture services through Thomas Patrick Dental Studio in Wimborne Minster. Appointments, treatment fees and patient records are administered through Thomas Patrick Clarke Ltd, trading as Thomas Patrick Dental Studio.
What direct access means
Some patients can see a Clinical Dental Technician directly without visiting a dentist first.
I can provide and maintain full dentures directly for patients who:
• Have no natural teeth; and
• Do not have dental implants.
If you have any natural teeth or dental implants, treatment involving them must be provided following a prescription from a dentist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon. This includes partial dentures and implant-retained dentures.
If I identify anything that falls outside my professional scope, I will explain this clearly and advise you to see an appropriate dentist or other healthcare professional. Treatment will only proceed when the necessary assessment, referral or prescription is in place.
